Do You Know What’s In Your Plastics?

The Eartheasy Blog shared a post earlier this month on understanding plastics by the numbers, so that you can make an educated and conscious decision about the plastics you use and how to recycle them.  According to this post, we are used to seeing the chasing arrows with a number inside of them to depict what type of plastic we are using. However, this symbol doesn’t mean that it is recyclable, or even reusable. The information you need to know is about the number inside that chasing arrows symbol, which can range from 1 to 7.

According to a recent post on the Gluten-Free Society blog which looked at the Standard American Diet and added the caution that it is indeed true what they say: we are what we eat, think, drink and do. The Standard American Diet (or SAD) often contributes to disease, and according to a study from Dr. Jaffe, who is the founder of Elisa Act Biotechnologies, which studies the delayed food allergy response. Dr. Jaffe points out that a reaction to food can take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 weeks from exposure to occur in the human body.

Listen to Your Body

Anna Guest-Jelly, of Curvy Yoga, talked this morning about how her job keeps her at her computer for long hours, and since she works from home now, she actually spends more time glued to the computer than when she worked in an office. Over the past few months she had developed pain in her elbow where she rested it on the desk, and the past few weeks it was constant. No amount of stretching could relieve it, until finally she took the day off, had some down time and miraculously her elbow was better.
